A Closer Look at the Sensory Environment through a SAGE POE: Cypress Cove Memory Care Assisted Living Households (Part Two)

Thursday, December 6, 2018

1 pm ET, noon CT, 11 am MT, 10 am PT

This webinar is the second of a two-part series related to the 2018 SAGE Post-Occupancy Evaluation of the Cottage at Cypress Cove. Each webinar is a stand-alone course and you do not have to attend both to understand the concepts discussed in each session, though we highly recommend it! You can find a recording of Part One of the webinar series HERE.

This course is AIA approved for one Health, Safety, and Welfare Learning Unit (LU/HSW).

Are you an ASID, IIDA, or IDS Member interested in earning CEU's for this course through IDCEC? CLICK HERE for more information!

This webinar will review the major findings of the 2018 SAGE multidisciplinary post-occupancy evaluation (POE) of Cypress Cove Memory Care Assisted Living Households. This EFA Design Showcase Award Winning project utilizes specific design features to enhance the sensory environment for residents and staff. POE team members will discuss this project in relationship to these therapeutic goals. Special attention will be given to lighting details and how tunable circadian lighting systems were incorporated in the households. Direct observations and experiences from staff and family members will be highlighted and implication for future research and innovation discussed.

Identify dimensions of the sensory environment that can have therapeutic benefit.

Identify specific age-related factors associated with lighting, balance, mobility, and sleep.

Learn the principles of circadian lighting and applications for your next project.

Discover the value of a multidisciplinary look at designed environments.
