SAGE is an acronym for the Society for the Advancement of Gerontological Environments. The organization was founded in 1994 by like-minded individuals with the common goal of improving physical environments for older adults. SAGE encourages the implementation of evidence-based design, as well as regulatory change to improve living conditions for seniors. The goal is to share and distribute insightful information that will help improve senior living communities. To date, SAGE has grown into a nationwide organization. Like Texas, many states have formed their own Chapters.
