Setting Up State Units

Those involved with SAGE work primarily with existing groups and programs to build interdisciplinary partnerships. A state unit should (although this is not a firm requirement) be set up with at least one, and preferably several individuals, from each of the following professions/disciplines:

  • Facility providers
  • Regulators
  • Designers
  • Researchers

Individuals from the following additional fields should also be considered:

  • Agencies that serve older adults
  • Consultants
  • Manufacturing representatives
  • Medical Professionals
  • Older adults

The state unit shall appoint, at a minimum, a President and Treasurer, who shall serve on the SAGE Federation Steering Committee. Additional officers may be appointed as desired. For more information on how to start a State Unit please contact the SAGE business office .
